How to Measure for Your Chair
Width:Measure the space where you plan to place your chair and ensure there’s enough room for it to sit comfortably without overcrowding the area. For dining or home office chairs, consider the number you need side by side. In living areas, a wider armchair makes a great statement, while narrower styles are ideal for compact corners.
Height: Chair height affects both comfort and style. For dining chairs, ensure the seat height allows enough clearance under your table; typically 25–30cm between seat and tabletop. For armchairs, match the back height to your other furniture for a cohesive look, especially if placing them near a sofa or window.
Depth: Consider how you intend to use the Chair. A deeper seat is perfect for lounging or reading, while a shallower seat suits upright sitting and smaller spaces. Always allow enough room behind and in front of the chair so it doesn’t interrupt the flow of your room, especially for swivel or recliner styles.
