Bridgerton-Inspired Home Styling Guide | Georgian Chic Interiors 2026
Get the Look: Bridgerton Style Meets Georgian Chic
Finally, one of our favourite series is back with more intrigue, romance, gossip, and sumptuous homes to inspire our interiors.
Remember how we thought Bridgerton would never be the same again when actor Regé-Jean Page aka, the enigmatic and devastatingly handsome Duke of Hastings, left the series?
But the producers pulled it out of the bag and shifted the focus onto the lovelorn Penelope Featherington, who frequently sat by her window gazing at the house across the street in hope of catching a glimpse of her love-interest, Colin Bridgerton.
It took almost two subsequent seasons of heartbreak, tears and unrequited love before those three little words were mentioned - The Carriage Scene - featuring in season three, episode four, which, ultimately, led our girl Penelope and her guy to the altar.
After the excitement of the long-awaited happy ending, season three wound up with a glimpse into the future and the arrival of their son and Bridgerton heir, baby Elliot.
As season four drops on Netflix, attention has now landed on Benedict Bridgerton, the younger brother of the family, and his pursuit of a mysterious woman known as the Lady in Silver, who we find out is, by day, Sophie Baek, a housemaid with notions.
With yet another new story arc, and wondering what’s to become of Penelope’s alter-ego, Lady Whistledown and her Society Papers, one thing which remains consistent is the backdrop of gorgeous interiors which are now trending as Georgian Chic.
Timeless Design: Georgian Furniture That Never Dates
Right at the centre is the Chesterfield sofa which has never gone out of fashion. Designed for gentlemen to sit comfortably without creasing their suits, today we’re free to lounge on one in sweatshirts and tracksuit bottoms or stretch prone with the remote control.
Chair versions developed, too, like the Nelson in chestnut leather if you’re tempted by the gentlemen’s club look, another Georgian invention, by the way. Or go more contemporary with the stand-out Crawford Chesterfield sofa in royal blue velvet upholstery which wouldn’t look out of place in Lady Danbury’s morning room.
But are you really an interiors type if you haven’t heard of Regency stripe? This one came out of the Bridgerton era and we’re still upholstering, running up a few curtains, and stitching cushions in the pattern over two hundred years later. You’ll find a version of it in the light blue Cotswold four-seater sofa, a fresh beauty sitting on a castor foot, another invention that came into its own at the end of the Georgian period.
Bedroom Styling Guide: A Modern Take on Georgian Elegance
French counterparts of the Georgians contributed the boudoir, a little space closeted away for girly gossip over afternoon tea, yet another Georgian development to bridge the gap between luncheon and a late dinner.
The space eventually became the bedroom, and we can get a look inspired by it with the Clementine 5ft bed frame in stained oak. It’s a pared back interpretation of Georgian opulence with a matching dressing table and stool to complete the look and to work in a period property, a contemporary apartment, or even an industrial loft conversion mixed with more utilitarian pieces, white bed linen and contemporary art.
Boys’ Room Styling: Masculine Georgian-Inspired Furniture
The same goes for the more masculine lines of the Louis Phillippe antique-style bedroom suite. Picture the dark mahogany 4’ 6” bed frame in a period home with matching dresser , or if space is tight, opt for the tallboy version to meet storage needs.
Rug Styling Guide: Georgian Patterns That Endure
re’s a revelation: The Georgians were the ones to put rugs on the floor in this part of the world after they used to be….wait for it….on tables.
New mansions and grand town houses owned by the Ton had started to install marble and stone floors - an idea brought back from the Grand Tours when young men travelled Europe for a year or two before finding a wife and producing an heir and a spare.
Without considering the difference in climate in northern Europe and how these materials would feel underfoot in winter, the floor rug was born.
Patterns from back then still flourish today and you’ll find similar in the Anatolia rust jacquard (from €69), the Renuu Vintage Tullow, and for a faded antique look with a more contemporary grey finish, take a look at the Divine light grey jacquard.
